Using Joined up Digital Solutions Collaboratively in an ICS World
Having collaborated over the years with our health and social care clients, to design, configure and implement digital support tools for local authorities and CCG’s, we are keen to explore potential opportunities with the development of Integrated Care Systems, and would like to help them move towards greater collaboration.
We understand that working together as an ICS to deliver transformational models of care is challenging, not least because different organisations, that are committed to working together are at varying stages of digital maturity. Using different systems and processes is expensive and can be difficult to manage. Collaborating, rather than competing is the only way forward and digital tools with support from us here at PPL, can be embedded across an ICS and used by all relevant parties to enable self-directed care.
From a digital solutions provider perspective, we wonder - at present, how ready are Integrated Care Systems to support joined up working by implementing joined up digital systems?
Empowering individuals to have choice and control over the care and the support they receive is now widely put into practice by many professionals across the health and social care landscape. There is still much more that can be done and using safe, secure and robust digital support systems across an ICS region, can speed up the delivery of services to those needing care, increase efficiencies and help to reduce the length of hospital stays.
Digital tools can be used by the citizen and also the professionals who have responsibility for them - the person has flexibility, options and feels more in control of their own life, whilst the health and care teams can have insight into what is going on.
What drives the systems that work well is the use of data to measure and monitor services that are delivered and to also be able to manage and control budgets. Accurate real time data that helps Finance teams with auditing and budget controls, can help to target resources to those people who have the greatest need. We provide real time data and reporting as part of our service offering.
Improving digital skills of Staff teams and citizens is important too and training and support is available as part of any solution implemented by PPL.
